What is the “integrated” approach to physical therapy?

Choosing a health care provider is one of the most important decisions you can make. You want someone who is knowledgeable, skilled at what they do and accessible. At CIPT, we are willing to take the time to go over all of your options and treat you as a whole person. Our approach is different in that we work with you to teach you how to achieve optimal physical health and wellness so that you can return to the activities you love in the shortest time possible.

Treatment techniques:

CIPT provides a comprehensive evaluation of your body systems as they relate to your movement problems or pain patterns. Our approach is one of evaluating the whole body to determine which areas may be working against your recovery. We are experts in the field of manual therapy. We draw on years of education and practice to develop a treatment plan specific to you. This allows us to achieve results in a timelier manner and with minimal discomfort to you.

We utilize treatment techniques that are gentle but focused on changing how your nervous systems respond to a problem. Treatment is designed to be non-invasive and is done with clothing on. Many of the techniques utilized are based on the osteopathic strain-counter strain theories, joint mobilization and training from the Center for IMT in Bloomfield, CT. These may be combined with spinal balancing (www.biosynchronistics.com) or myofascial release. Exercise programs will be given when appropriate and are based on the ongoing assessment of your strength and movement.

Your visit with us:

Our treatment sessions are provided in a relaxing, healing environment and are 50 minutes long.

Your first visit will be one hour and 15 minutes and will involve a comprehensive evaluation of all systems and treatment.

A personalized care plan will be designed to guide you toward your full recovery. Your involvement in the process is very important to us and you will be given “homework” to allow you to help yourself.
